Smoky Maple Tofu Club Sandwiches by rawcrush
💚 Recipe:⠀
Instructions⠀
1. For the smoky maple tofu, use 250g of tofu and cut into 4 slices. ⠀
2. Cut 6 to 8 slices if you prefer a chewy filling with a little more resistance. ⠀
3. Place tofu in a large flat dish in a single layer. In a bowl mix 3tbs low sodium soy sauce, 3tbs maple syrup, 1tsp smoked paprika and 1/2tsp onion powder. ⠀
4. Pour over tofu and allow to marinade for at least 20 minutes. Turn the tofu over and leave it for another 20 minutes. I cook the tofu in my flat toaster until golden. ⠀
5. Use equal parts of low sodium soy sauce and maple syrup. A couple of tablespoons will do for 250g cubed. I cook the tofu in a non stick pan with a little oil until golden brown on all sides. ⠀
6. Turn down the heat to very low and add the marinade and toss for a minute making sure all sides are coated. If you add the marinade to the tofu before frying, the soy sauce will burn and taste bitter.⠀
7. Toast bread, spread a generous amount of garlic vegenaise, add iceberg lettuce, onion slices and tomatoes. Top with a second slice of bread, wrap in baking paper, cut and Enjoy!
